Visual C++/MFC Job in San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles, Calif - USA)
===================================================================
Visual C++/MFC Windows programmer needed immediately! (Visual Basic,
IEEE-488, LabView, electronics hardware, and process control
experience and Internet savvy a plus but not required)
Our company is a 200+ employee, 25 million dollar/year process control
instrumentation manufacturer in the San Fernando Valley area of Los
Angeles. We've got all the standard benefits (medical, dental, 401K,
etc.), and are looking for permanent full time help (I'm leaving and
trying to help find a replacement - this is a great place to work--I
actually hate to leave, and was looking forward to the challenges
ahead as we expand our automated testing capabilities in the future),
and I want to help them find someone to carry on when I leave.
You will be writing and maintaining automated test programs for PC
under Windows (3.11 now, eventually 95 or NT). These programs entail
controlling test instruments like DVM's and power supplies via
IEEE-488 bus, talking to the device under test via RS232 serial
interface, configuring, calibrating, and testing the performance of
PC-boards and assembled units. It is really a FUN job for the person
interested in expanding their Windows programming experience, and is
especially cool because you are controlling external devices, and can
actually "SEE" the results of your work!
A degree is not required, but you must be a self-motivated team
player, willing to take direction and DOCUMENT YOUR WORK! No hackers
please! An openness to new ideas and technologies and a willingness
to learn and keep up to date is essential. Please, no 'clever'
coding... we want good, solid readable code here <g>.
This is a great opportunity to grow with one of the leaders in process
control instrumentation. We've got a great plan for the future, and
you will have a very nice part of that plan, especially if you bring a
good attitude, strong technical background, and willingness to
contribute and grow with a great bunch of people.

This is an informal request for resumes, I'm not from Human Resources,
I'm the guy whose job you will be filling when I leave, but management
gave me permission to post this notice.
Thanks and GOOD LUCK (this is a great job if you can get it)
